Dear Toronto Cyclists,
We need your help to organize and run the 2015
Toronto East Bike Festival! Three years ago we launched the Scarborough
Southwest Bike Rodeo. This event has engaged community partners and grown from
100 to 300 participants.
For 2015 we received a grant to make this a
larger event, a bold gesture to expand cycling
culture in Toronto. See our winning submission here http://j.mp/1vLzrPv

One objective and goal of the festival is
that we want it to include even more activities and participants for cyclists! So we are inviting you to our first planning
meeting! We have an initial framework for the event,
but it will be shaped by the interests of partners and volunteers who bring
their ideas to the table.
Some ideas for the event include:
·
Bike safety rodeo course
·
Do it yourself bike maintenance
classes
·
Bike Tune-ups
·
Marketplace of cycling, environmental,
and active lifestyle organizations
·
Cycling related vendors
·
Demonstrations and
competitions: bike polo, bike races, unicycle basketball
·
Cycling workshops
·
Kids cycling craft and activity
zone
·
Music
·
Food
The meeting will be an opportunity to hear
the vision for the event and add your ideas. If you decide you want to be part
of this event, you can identify what you or your organization would be excited
to offer in the planning and running of the bike festival.
If you can’t make this initial meeting, but
would like to be part of the festival or have ideas for the event we would
still love to hear from you! Drop us a line at 36cyclists@gmail.com
Come be part of this exciting and bold
gesture to expand the culture of cycling in Toronto!
Sincerely,
